Boat Bags
AIRE has two sizes of Raft Stow Bags. These are round cross-sectionally,
and of course have nylon webbing lift handles & are zippered.
The Small Stow Bag is 24" in diameter by 35" long and costs
$63, and the Large Stow Bag is 30" around by 42" long and
runs $83. The ends are mesh to help your boat dry, and the rest is grey
pvc kayak material. The Small is good for Pumas and SuperPumas, and some
13' bailers if they are rolled tight, and most any 13' bucket boat. Check
your boat's rolled dimensions to be sure. Some people also use the Small
Stow for AIRE Sea Tiger Kayaks. The Large size is good for 14' through 16'
size rafts, and some non-self bailers up to 17-1/2'.
Thwart Pump Bag
We don't have a photo of this item yet but it was made to hold a standard double-action "wonder" size hand pump along with a few small goodies. It is 25" by 10" by 5", so you might be able to get a skinny full-size 4" barrel pump in here, but with the hose it will be tight. The Thwart Pump Bag is about 2/3 pvc boat material and about 1/3 mesh along the top zippered side and the two narrow ends. In other words this is not a waterproof holder, but most people just strap these type of pumps to their thwart. The Pump Bag has two camstraps permanently stitched to the side that goes against the thwart, so you just secure it to the thwart and leave it, only opening the zipper to get at the contents. For the low price these are fairly handy, though it is not clear if we will be able to get these in the future once our current supply is gone. $29
Footcones and Footloops
Our Footcones and Footloops for rafts are available in PVC and rubber. We give a price break on the PVC loops and cones because the base pieces do not require pre-sanding before we assemble them. Footloops are less expensive than footcones, and generally hold one's foot more securely; the down side is that the danger of foot entrapment is increased. We do not stitch webbing to the front edge of the Footcone uppers (even though the photo shows this). We use AIRE's unrippable hull material for this piece and have found that reinforcement is unneeded and saves both of us some labor cost. Specify brand and color of raft. Footcones are 7 X 9" trapezoidal, footloops are 4 X 12-1/2" oval.
*Note: Since our move in March 2007, we have not set up our sewing machine so for the moment the footcones will need to be outsourced. The ones we get from Whitewater Designs run $17 each, or $16 for six or more, and for the next few months these will be all we will have. We hope to have our own available again by early 2008. For now, ignore the pricing below.

Grabloops
Our Grabloops ($25 ea., above) attach around the circumference
of your raft's thwarts, and provide both a dual grab handle and two d-rings.
They attach with a two-inch buckle, are fully adjustable for any diameter
thwart. Grabloops come in blue or black, made with 2" 1600 lb. webbing.
The loops on our current design are smaller than those shown in the photo
to ensure no body parts will be snagged in a flip, and the D's are mounted
higher up.
We also have a new Economy Grabloop, made with 1.5" webbing
and using a metal Ancra buckle instead of a Fastex buckle, for $15. No
photo, but essentially the same design as our standard model.
Lift Handles
One of our more clever items, if we do say so, are our removable
Lift Handles ($4 each, $14/set of four, or $3.25 for ten or more).
They are made from 1" webbing and heavy duty spa hose. Simply pass the
webbing through a D-ring then bring the handle (hose) up through the loop
the webbing forms to secure them. These are sure to be copied soon, just
as we copied the Grabloop design above from someone else. One other thing
a Lift Handle can be used for is as an attachment at the end of a rope,
for example where the other end is tied to a boat that is wrapped around
a rock. Keep in mind the standard version of the Lift Handle is made
with 800 lb. strap, but for $1 each extra, we can make them with 4000 lb.
tubular nylon.
