Since our used gear inventory is low this page now includes NEW closeout items rather than just boats. Many new one-up goodies that are collecting dust in our store have been added, so it's your chance to get some bargains. Scroll down below the used boats. Please make sure you read the text at the beginning of the Closeout section before ordering.
We are no longer renting rafts or inflatable kayaks, so few boats will be added to this page in the future. Most "updates" will involve removing rather than adding boats, and we are pretty much out of used inflatable whitewater kayaks altogether. We do pick up demo boats from AIRE here and there, but that's about it.
When we quit renting gear, many of the used boats we had went for higher prices than what an imported inflatable or raft costs now. Most of the better imports were not available at that time. A used raft, for example, that originally sold for $4,000 is not going to sell for much less than something like a Tributary (import) raft would new unless it is in very worn condition. It may make more sense to just get a new raft or i.k. with the warranty rather than saving 10% on something that might have been plastered around river rocks, used heavily by an outfitter, or perhaps spent time baking in the sun and having it's seams stressed to the breaking point.
We will consider trade-ins from local customers only if what you have might sell within a reasonable time. We are not interested in large rafts over 14' or small ones under 11' for the simple reason that we get few requests for those sizes. Kayak-wise, we will always be happy to take trade-ins on any AIRE kayak other than a Sea Tiger or standard Force. NRS kayaks, Rikens, Hysides, Innovas, and Grabners are all items we'll consider so long as you bear in mind that trade-ins will not yield the same amount you could get selling your boat privately. Generally you will only get about 35 to 40% of the new cost. Sold privately, you may get more like 55% to 65% if the obat is in very good condition. Since we are not a hardshell shop we are unable to take trade-ins on plastic or glass boats.
If you don't see a photo link or photo url it is because we don't have one yet! We shoot pictures if we remember to when the boats are out being shown, but in many cases what is below are just standard models that look exactly like their new counterparts on our own site or elsewhere on the web. You will notice there are not many photos on this page. We prefer to let people link to, or copy & paste url's instead to save loading time. If we put every picture on this page, at the size they are filed, it would take ten minutes to load.
Any accessories ordered with your used boat will receive a 10% discount (except for aluminum rowing frames) just as they would with a new boat.

Whitewater Inflatable Kayaks

Nothing much left in this section, sorry.

Metzeler Spezi [Photo - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] fully decked TRUE inflatable kayak, looks like a hardshell, fibreglass cockpit & rim, for experts with a bombproof roll only - a very dangerous river boat in the wrong hands. This will make a good ocean boat if you don't mind the tracking being mediocre since the hull speed is incredibly high. In fact, this 13 footer is faster than any inflatable on the market today, even an Innova Sunny. An Innova tracking fin kit can be added easily to improve the tracking. Nice condition, some touch ups with Aquaseal over a few dings, and one tiny 1.5" patch over another ding, and extremely rare. About 36 pounds, would be way over $2000 if it were made today.
Note: this poor Spezi incurred some serious damage over the Winter because we tried to put a bit too much air pressure in it with a Wonder Pump. Specifically, an internal seam between the right tube and the inflatable floor gave way over nearly a two foot section. The repair would involve making a large incision in the right tube near the cocokpit, so this is not a job for a rookie. If you are interested and think you're up for the job, make us an offer. The last posted price we had here (before we screwed up the boat) was $625. At this point anything over $200 will be considered.

Yukon Hypalon tandem (or large solo) e.v.a. foam floor self bailer. This boat's original floor, which was made with glued pvc unlike the rest of the kayak, went south ages ago. We made a 5-3/4" thick foam pad from EVA, which is much softer and more comfy than ethafoam. This Hungariian made model has big 12.5" tubes and is made with pricey French hypalon. We don't have a pic here yet, but it's orange-red with black trim. The boat is only 11'3" long so it is either for two shorter paddlers (or at least a very short front paddler) or it can be used as a solo expedition model. The short waterline and flat bottom means it pivots quick and unlike most rubber inflatables, it does not hang up on rocks easily. At 38" wide it's also very stable without being piggy, and has a solid 450 pound capacity.
Here's the problem with this boat though: That foam floor will not roll up, though it bends enough to go in any normal SUV. But the large size of the foam precludes us from sending it UPS, and minimum motor freight fees would be prohibitively expensive. So..... this one's for local pick-up only, sorry. We should also note that the backrests are pretty poor, so you should plan on using at least one camp chair with it for proper back support. $359

Flatwater/Touring 2-Person Inflatables

Trinity Self Bailing IK's - 2 available, barely used; one standard and one that was a 2" extra wide prototype. Although these are listed under the Flatwater heading above, the Trinity is more than capable of running substantial whitewater with the addition of a few more bail holes, but at 14' it will not pivot quickly. In other words, these are more suited for crashing through large wave trains than they are for swinging between large, tightly spaces boulders on highly technical rivers. See "Touring I.K's" section for a photo and more details. Both in nice condition, yellow, four small bail holes - $1,225 (Wide) & $1,450 (standard width)

NEW Innova Seaker I solo, 2007 model, display boat. See our Touring IK section for complete information. $2,099 for American Express, or pay with Visa, Mastercard, Discover card, or Paypal and save $20. Pay via cashier's check and it's your for $1,999. UPS not included in price, FOB Danville, CA

Self-Bailing Whitewater Rafts

12'5" Incept W38, over $3K new, ten years old but used only one day in the last six years. This vintage is glued together and it is a pvc boat, which means unless you are very experienced at boat repair (which this will need frequently due to the glue failing periodically) and own a dremel tool, you will want to pass on this one. That negative said, we bought this knowing full well what it was, and we bought it exclusively as a personal boat - this was never, ever part of our rental fleet. The W38 is probably the single best handling "standard" 12' raft made, though at 5'8" it is roughly the same width as a SuperPuma making it best for narrow technical class III, IV, and V runs rather than high-flow "big" rivers. It can be rowed, though we think it is best as a four or five person paddle boat with it's cool little square stern. 18" tubes, full safety line, removable rear thwart, plenty of D-rings, and a full wrap-up floor. For more info see our Whitewater Raft page. The two front main tube seams of this have been rebuilt and it wasn't too difficult of a repair, but it was time consuming. There are five footloops and the floor was professionally rebuilt by Tracey Harmon just prior to us purchasing it. Tracey's main business used to be converting bucket boats to self-bailers, and he was the Incept importer for four years when he lived in Idaho so no one in the world was more qualified to rebuild the floor than him. This boat cost $1300, plus shipping and our labor of the footloop installation. It runs $3,250 plus tax or freight new. We are simply asking what we paid, not covering the footloops (and we have the receipt to prove it) - $1,379. For more info on this one call us. We'll post some photos when we have time to shoot them.

Hyside 13' Self Bailing conversion [Photo - 1, 2, 3] . The photos were taken indoors, in our little rear building, under mostly fluorescent lighting. The color appears darker than it really is, though it is a dark shade of green in any case. This was a Chinese-made blue standard floor 156H model, that, like the other Chinese models Hyside imported the year this was made, started turning funny dark blotchy colors all over. Most Hysides are made in Korea. We originally had this one coated with green urethane (which was supposed to be TEAL - long story!) in a partly successful attempt to cover the blotches, and later installed a flat drop-stitch Jack's Plastic Welding inflatable floor directly on top of the slightly raised "bucket" floor. It is held down to prevent floating with a lacing strip running down the center of the underside of the drop-stitch floor, and with a matching one glued to the top of the original floor. There is a thin area that retains a bit of water between the inflatable and sub-floor, but only a bit. This boat actually handles a fair bit better than the standard factory 156HSB bailer does. A super tough boat, but too heavy for UPS once it's in the box unless we remove the thwarts and inflatable floor. Big 20" tubes, frame chafers, military valves, no patches, removable thwarts, 6'5" wide. There are still six footcones under the drop-stitch floor, as well as six more on top of the drop floor. In other words, if you wanted to use it as a non-bailer for some reason, you could remove the inflatable floor, tape over the bail holes, and there would still be six footcones. Very nice condition, no patches, excellent air retention, a tiny bit of touch up with urethane where the Hyside logos peeled - $1,695

NEW! AIRE Tributary T-13 self bailer with three thwarts, blue, 2007 model. Only difference betweent his and the '08 version is the lift handles on the new ones. $1,995. See our main raft page for more details on this model. Only one left.

UPS rates on the Tributary rafts will vary from a low of about $62 to a high of $95 depending where in the lower 48 you are. This is far cheaper than having a motor freight company deliver to a residential address, which from us or AIRE could run from $200 to $300.

Incept W43 3-Thwart 14'3" Self Bailer, with extra black urethane all the way across the floor bottom, and lift handles (which were a non-standard item). This boat needs quite a bit of labor (see next paragraph) yet it is in good condition. There is one small floor patch where the boat was cut with a big copper staple when it was removed from the box brand new (the staple did not create a leak but scratched deeply enough that a patch seemed advisable), and a floor repair of an I-beam that had torn over about a 4' section. The I-beam was done by Jason Mellor, former repairman extraordinaire for Hyside Inflatables. This model has three non-removable thwarts. If you want to row it you just leave the center thwart completely deflated.
This Incept, like the brand new ones, has a welded floor (I-beams and edges), and welded main seams and bulkheads, but all D-rings, floor urethane covering, chafers, footloops, and thwart attachments are glued. The consequence of this is these items tend to come unglued, and most have on this boat. In order to re-glue them, the old glue must first be removed. The best & safest way by far to do this is to get a variable speed Dremel (or Craftsman equivalent found at Sears and Orchard Supply) tool and a bag of the rough grit 1/2" sand drums for it. Running at a medium speed it's fairly easy to grind the old glue off without burning through the boat hull like you would with a larger more powerful tool. It is a hassle to be sure and there are several days worth of re-gluing needed, but it is a very nice raft and not everything needs to be fixed before it hits the river. If you wish to take it as-is and do the work yourself, we'll go $2,100. If we do the work it will be $2,395. You can get an idea of the work needed by looking at the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th photo links below.
Features armored D-rings and beveled edge thwarts. Handles like a Maravia Williwaw I, which is to say great. Not cheap, but it runs about $4,000 new with the extra thwart, handles, and underside armor, and has less than 20 days on it. The ungluing of so many items is a result of a few really hot days on the American River rather than heavy use. It also comes with a $100 carry bag. Eight footloops (several of which also need re-gluing), bow storage bags, lots of D-rings, sharp looking raft. You can look at several photos of the whole boat and some close-ups by copying and pasting each of these photo links one at a time into the address bar at the top of your screen (and then hitting the return key)- http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14a.JPG , http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14b.JPG , http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14c.JPG , http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14d.JPG , http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14e.JPG , http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14f.JPG , http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14g.JPG , and http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/incpt14h.JPG .

Waters End 16'6"(Taiwanese) wrap floor converted to bailing with inflatable floor mat on top of main floor. 10 days use only & excellent condition other than some floor patches (not thru the inflatable part). Tubes are 840 denier 70% hypalon, but the main floor is wimpy material (denier unknown) and the bailing speed is pretty slow so this boat is for big, deep rivers like the Yampa or Colorado, not UPS-able - $1,549

Non-Selfbailing Whitewater Rafts

8'5" Two-person IBC Inflatable Floor Yacht Tender raft. We have used this bombproof little hypalon raft as a two-man rental boat for river use, though it is actually a tender. This boat was made by Okamoto Rubber Company, best known in whitewater circles as the maker of Riken rafts. The 1200 denier polyester material this raft is built from is unbelievably strong; stronger in fact than many of the large river rafts Okamoto produced. Inflatable Boat Center in Santa Monica, CA, was the importer of these and the IBC Mississippi inflatable canoe (above under "touring" i.k's). A boat of this quality runs a minimum of $1800 now, and likely closer to $2000+ if you could even find a hypalon dinghy with an inflatable floor. It has three chambers counting the floor, and weighs about 45 pounds give or take a couple. There is a photo of this boat at http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/used/IBC.JPG . You can copy & paste this url into your address bar, and hit "enter" to see the pic. It is orange-yellow in color (just like a Metzeler boat) and has military valves. We do not have the original accessories (like the bow spray cover, seat, or oars) for this any more, but we do have a motor mount - which was very expensive and not part of the original package - that will be included. It will make a very durable and forgiving mini river raft or general purpose boat. With a little care, this should go another 15 years, easily shippable and very clean with fairly low miles - $875

Achilles 8' mini-whitewater raft. No photo of this one yet, but essentially this is a very heavy duty little hypalon raft made from the same material that Achilles used to build their much larger river rafts with. It has one thwart, a fair amount of kick in the front end, and a rounded back end. This model was designed very specifically for self guided tag-along trips on California's class II Cache Creek. It is one thing, and one thing only: a two-person paddle raft. No, it will not hold three people. No, you cannot get an oar frame and row the boat. It is way too small for any frame. If you are interested in anything besides a two-man boat, this isn't it. It has two footloops installed, two main chambers plus the thwart, and two D-rings on each side and one at the front. It is grey (tubes) and black (floor). Excellent condition, about 12 years old but very low miles (maybe 45 to 50 days) - $725

New - Closeouts !

Every Closeout item below is NEW, not used, unless otherwise mentioned. This section is a new addition to the used boat page. It features items that are either in too short of supply to put in the regular sections of our site, or merchandise that has collected dust for a long time. Pictures for most of the following products can be seen on the relevant pages of our site (i.e., a paddle jacket or helmet would be on the Riverwear page), but there are no photos or photo url's below. We will need to post at least a few pics though for unique items and will do so as time allows. Bear in mind we can only update our website every month or two, so some items below may be sold already. Also, please note that we do have a $20 minimum order.
Returns: As everything that follows is a closeout item, we will not accept returns on non-clothing products. If a piece of clothing you order does not fit, you may return it for a credit of the purchase price (not including UPS fees) for any other merchandise, clothing or otherwise. However, if you happen to buy say, a closeout paddle top in XXL that we only list in that size as a closeout item, you may not do a straight swap if you decided you actually need the XL. You would need to pay the difference between the closeout cost shown here, and the regular price shown on our Riverwear page. If the XL was also on this page, then you could do a straight exchange. Beyond this exception, once you buy it, it's yours. We do not want these goodies boomeranging back again, so make certain you want it before calling.

Drybags & Waterproof Storage-
-Seattle Sports River Tote square drybag, one only, 15" X 15" X 23", approximately three cubic feet, blue pvc, one only, with shoulder a strap, list price $45 to $49, one only - $39
-Seattle Sports Cordura River Tote, same specs as bag above but in black urethane coated cordura, lightweight & tough, one only - $51
-Global Products Urethane
riverpack-style bag, about 2.4 cubic feet, with comfy wide shoulder straps, a chest cinch, & waist belt, four-strap closure system, ultra light weight and strong. This bag is red and originally retailed for about $80 a long time back. A bag made of this material today would run upwards of $150, and we know this because one distributor tried to have these made elsewhere when Global went out of business. This bag has some small whiteish areas where the outer side urethane is delaminating, but it should be dry as-is. Even if any of these spots leak, simply brushing a tiny bit of Aquaseal on to the few small affected areas will ensure it's watertight. One only, $55
-Rubber Hard Bottom bag, 13' X 26' rolled size, seals well, cinch straps on both sides, one only - $25
-Prijon Roll-top
1.5L pvc bag, good material, yellow, last one- $19
-Camera Shield -
see the main accessory page of our website for a photo and description of this item, a clear waterproof camera case- $27 each (list is $39)
-High-end Cordura & Clear Poly Cell Phone Drypouch, 4" X 10" flat size, will hold larger walkie talkie too. This very high quality pouch has a top grade drysuit zipper that is absolutely 100% water & airtight, and a detachable belt clip that allows you to leave a small piece of hardware on your belt or lifejacket, and then snap this case back on to it. It could be used for important small first aid or diabetic items as well. Last one, 20% off, $29. This unit would run over $50 today.
-Huge slightly used "mason-lid" waterproof barrel for Grand Canyon trips, etc - $30 (note- this barrel is for LOCAL pick-up only. We will not ship it).

--This list was updated April, 2008-

Riverwear-
Some items below are pictured on our regular Riverwear page, and others aren't but we'll try to describe them as best we can.
-MTI Livery pfd's, stock remaining - $25 each.
- Seda Fiberglass Helmets in small and medium sizes only - $50.
-Stohlquist Tsunami Drysuit, Medium-Large size. It will fit folks weighing in the 140 to 185 pound range, who are between 5'7" and 5'10" in height, maybe 5'11". This attractive suit is the model we used to carry before picking up the Palm line. It is medium blue with pretty turquoise trim. It has exterior protective neoprene cuffs over the wrist gaskets, a very nice pile-lined neck gasket collar, and and elastic waist. The ankle gaskets are bare, but the intended plan is to tuck them inside your wetsuit boots as you zip them up. The list on this model is over $400, closeout price is $269. And no, this is not breathable material and it does not have a spray tunnel - this suit was designed for rafters, inflatable kayakers, and windsurfers. Made in USA
-Stohlquist basic quasi-Drytop, with 2" velcro-neoprene waist (instead of the waist latex gasket that a true drytop would have), sizes medium and XL, two only. This paddle top is blue with yellow trim, and has standard latex wrist & neck gaskets, with no whistles or bells. It does not have outer covers over the gaskets or a secondary closure at the waist, so it is best mated up to some drypants or tucked inside a wetsuit if you want to eliminate the chance of water entering. Hard to find any drytop under $250 or $300 these days, especially an American made one, but this top is yours for only $95
-Stohlquist
basic quasi-Drypants, large size, no pockets, with 2" velcro neoprene waist and latex ankle gaskets, in blue. Sort of a counterpart to the Stohlquist top above. Current model is $139, but these are just $89.
-Fixer-upper Stohlquist Drypants, as above, in XL size, but with one gasket ripped. Long story, but basically some mudflap with size 16 feet managed to rip the gasket trying it on at home (he didn't try it on in the store), and he returned it. Why we refunded his money is a mystery, but we will provide a brand new replacement gasket with this, and if you need it, a tube of Aquaseal at half price. The torn area is already trimmed. All you need to do is sand it lightly (the small perimeter of latex that remains), clean it and the gasket with alcohol on the area to be glued, and stretch the leg over a 2 liter sode bottle, preferably a stiff unopened one. Pull the new gasket down over the leg, roll it back about 1/2" all the way around, and apply the Aquaseal. Fold it back down again & let it dry overnight, and wham, new drypants. Might be a good idea to put some butter or vaseline on the soda bottle first so the Aquaseal doesn't get stuck to it. $50 for the pants and gasket, $53 if you need the Aquaseal. You save almost $90.
-Stohlquist quasi-Drytop in size large, blue with teal trim, and this one has a pocket which the others listed above don't. These retailed for $159, but this one is only $109.
-Basic Waterproof Pants & Tops: these are similiar to what some schools use for baseball during the rainy season. They are coated nylon and will work fine for ocean or coldwater paddling, assuming you wear something to wick and keep you warm underneath. These are listed as "Econo Pants & Tops" on our Riverwear page, although there is no photo there either. Simple elastic wrists and waists, in dark blue, marked as "XL" but work fine as a standard Large also. Tops or bottoms, $11 each, or by a set and get both for $19!
-MTI Premiere Breathable Paddle Jackets
, in XXL sizes, red or mango only. These are shown on our Riverwear page. If the XXL turns out to be too big for you and you need to exchange it for an XL or Large, you would need to pay the difference between the closeout price here and the regular price of 109.00. Three of each color available at $85
-Extra long and extra-thick Wetsuit Gloves, shown as "Full Gauntlet Sea Style" gloves on our Riverwear page, in various sizes. These are for rafters, not someone who needs the dexterity to hold a kayak paddle. They are 4mm thick and are pre-curved with a velcro cinch. They come about halfway up your forearm. We have them listed on the Riverwear page at $38 now, but they were supposed to retail at $43 to $45. Closeout pricing now, limited sizes, only $29/pair.
-Zippered and non-zippered Wetsuit Boots with standard (not heavy duty tennis shoe) soles, in various sizes, regularly $42 for the zippered and $36 for the non-zippered, now 25% off at $31 and $27 per pair.
-Men's medium size Shorty Wetsuit, sleeveless, one only at $59
-Women's large size Shorty Wetsuit, contoured, one only at $59
-Kokatat Polarlite Pants, size small, for wearing under drypants or a drysuit, soft, thick, and comfy, with elastic waist, color is sort of a medium blue, one pair only, closeout $35
-Kokatat Nylon Pile Pants, size large, as above but with velcro waist and in dark blue - $38, one pair only.
-Old style Hytek helmets, sizes small and medium, regular price $27. The new versions of these are a universal size, but we still have some older ones. These are sized way big, so the small fits someone who would normally wear a medium, and the medium is equivalent to other brands in large size. You may return these for credit if they don't fit. We have the smalls in both white and blue, and the mediums in white only. $19
El Cheap-O Sandals,
basic over-the-foot (not between the toes) footwear for the take-out, in men's sizes 8, 9, 10, and 12. We just have one or two in each size left, $6 pair.
Gripper Sandals, also an over-the-foot design, sculpted out for your foot and toes, a comfortable design with inch-thich E.V.A. soles. Excellent for walking over slippery river boulders or loose soil. We originally sold these for $23 a pair, now only $12 in sizes 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11.

Miscellaneous
-
Maxxon complete Fishcat steel take-apart frames with oars, 2 available - $300 each. These are for 8, 9, and 10' length cat tubes only.
-One blue and one black 6.5" HD Carlisle outfitter oar blade, NO WARRANTY ON CARLISLE BLADES FROM NOW ON - $30 each.
-Two slightly tapered fiberglass windsurfer shafts, suitable for oar shafts up to 11' with a bit of work, used but like-new condition - $75 for the pair (UPS rates will be for a 70 pound box unless you pick these up).
-
River Knives, Samoa and Wenoka models, found on our Safety page, 20% off pricing shown.
-J&J 5" Barrel Pump, intended for any boat that has one-way valves, but not one with military or other valves that allow air to flow both ways during inflation. We removed the outlet flapper valve on this because it was too restrictive. Most boats made today have one-way valves so this will work with many current infl.kayaks and rafts. These have aluminum welded handles and stand 22" high, with an 18" barrel. The base had two little footpegs that were molded on, one of which broke, so this will need to be glued to some sort of homemade wood bottom, easy enough to do. These were more expensive than the wonder-style pumps and higher volume per stroke of course, but they are not double action. Leather piston cup, easy access to the inside, last one for only $35.
-303 Fabric Guard (not the Protectant); $10 per pint with the purchase of any other item; regualrly $15 to $16.
-4"X10" Nickle Steel Telescoping Grill This little flat ultra compact grill has a zig-zag of four cross members, and it telescopes from 4" by 7" to 4" by 10-1/2". One only. Perfect for inflatable kayakers who want to grill that freshly cought trout. $7
-PVC Repair Material, in odd sizes for various projects- Blue 20 ounce 1200 denier AIRE kayak fabric @ 2.50 per square foot; Blue 22 ounce 1000 denier scrap pieces @ 1.50 per square foot; Light Purple 18 ounce AIRE kayak material @ 2.25 per square foot; Aqua (turquoise color) 40 ounce 3300 denier AIRE raft material @ 3.25 per square foot; unreinforced Grey 32 ounce (similiar to the "gum rubber" material used on the bottom of hypalon boats, but in a pvc version) material @ 1.50 per square foot.
-One box full of medium weight blue pvc boat material - $15.
-Gorgeous 5' McCann wood laminate canoe paddle - $35;
-Heavy Duty Mesh Bags, sized and priced as follows: 10 X 13", no frills bag - $5 each; 13 X 15" split into two 6-1/5" halves for wine bottles, etc, with shoulder strap - $8 each; 13 X 15" with an outside pocket and shoulder strap - $11 each.
-Light Duty Drawstring Mesh Bag, for stinky river clothes or keeping your lifejacket, helmet, boots, etc together, approzimately 17" in diameter by 30' long, turquoise color - $9 each.
-Monster strength Ship Laniard rope, nearly 3/4", excellent lifeline rope - 59 cents per foot with a 50' minimum (would be way over $1/foot now).
-1-1/4" Nickle Plated Steel D-rings for various projects, 1-1/2" outside dimension. This is the metal D-ring ONLY, not a d-ring mounted to a circle. A pair of these can be sewn to the end of a 1" strap for an under-and-over style cam strap. These are the heavy duty D's used on kayak and raft D-ring patches, not the little light duty ones found on backpacks, etc. The diameter of the actual metal they are made from is 1/5". We used to buy these wholesale in huge quantities and still have tons of stock. Minimum order of 20 please. Priced as follows: 20 to 50, 15 cents each; 51 to 99, 13 cents each; 100 to 199, 11 cents each; 200+ would be 10 cents each.
-All narative books 50% off or better; reference books (not guide books) - 40% off; Out-of-state guidebooks - 20% off.

Kayak Paddles
-Cannon 2-piece 96" Asymetric Spoon Blade, black blades & clear anodized aluminum shaft. This was the older style "stiff" Cannon blade which is still a bit less stiff than their current model, but it was also the only Cannon paddle we sold for over 13 years and they were very popular. For a photo, see the Wave paddle on our Kayak Paddle page, which has the same essential front profile as this one. 96" is just a bit longer than ideal unless you're using an inflatable that is over 39' wide. Old price was $75, now only $60. Slightly scratched.
-Cannon Nokomis 240cm 2-piece touring kayak paddles - $70.
-Cannon old style Handle Kits to turn one of the original asymetric bladed two-piece aluminum shaft kayak paddles into two canoe paddles. These have the holes (the three holes on the female half, and the hole where the button pops out on the male half) drilled too close to the end of each half and will therefore need to be redrilled, one hole per half, but they are 1/4 the original price at only $5 each. Cannon later moved the button holes furthere away from the shaft ends not long before they discontinued the original paddle series. There is a photo of this handle kit on the Kayak Paddle page.
-Assorted low-end adult kayak paddles - $10 to $15.
- one-piece Gull kayak paddles 90" & 96", good for whitewater - $50 each. These ship at the 30 pound rate, so it's better if you can get two or three at the same time or pick them up at our location.

Please note that we do have a $20 minimum order on all new or used merchandise.
See our book section for closeouts also.

Misc. Used Stuff

Used Oars-
One set of (two) Heavy Duty Solid 9' Ash Oars plus a third spare Fir Laminate HD Oar, with a hoopi wrap (instead of rope) and oar tip protectors, with some minor lead counter-balancing (about a pound's worth on each). One of the Ash oars and the fir oar are in very good condition, but the second ash oar has a small split along the blade edge on one side. This doesn't make it unusable by any means, but a little epoxy could repair it easily. The two ash oars could use some light sanding and perhaps a single coat of varnish on the shaft and two coats on the blades. Though not marked as such, these are essentially the same telephone-pole sized monsters that Southbranch used to market. They are 2-1/4" in diameter, and weigh a shoulder-dislocating 14 pounds each for the ash pair! These would retail at about $175 each, and wholesale for $143 each now. We'll sell the set of three for $109, but we will not sell just one or two, so don't ask. Plan on picking them up here, and eat your spinach. These are too long for shipping - they will exceed the 130" UPS girth limit unless we send each one as a separate item, and then you would be looking at the 70 pound rate per oar. In other words, the shipping cost could be as much or more than the oars. Sending them via truck line would be the same situation, so these are for local pick-up only.

Submarine Can, 11" X 22", galvanized steel, very heavy duty dry can with submarine "hatch" top - $50, one only.

Several used non-waterproof gear boxes suitable for cookgear & utensils on multi-day trips - $5 to $10.

3-Piece steel Rowing Frame, for 15' or narrow 16 raft, with cooler deck area but needs a new plywood deck made. Rube-goldberg design with welded on pins (bolts) for oar clips. In other words, this won't work with oar locks because there are no holes for them. Padded slant board seat. This item is for local pick-up only - $95

4" and 6" Cylinder pumps, homemade, plunger O-rings will need to be restretched (by hand) periodically. If you want to see a photo of some of these, copy and paste this url into your nav address bar and hit "enter": http://www.theboatpeople.com/images/ebaypics/usedpumps.jpg . $70 and $80 each

Used Eska 7.5 horsepower outboard 2-stroke engine (it did work fine but we failed to take the gas out of it years ago, so the carb needs a thorough dissection & cleaning), excellent condition otherwise - $250.
