Note: We are out of all Innova models and it may be 2022 before we can get any more, or at least late 2021. Gumotex, the Czech factory where Innovas are produced, was hard hit with Covid and they are still behind from last year.
The Innova Halibut is a solo anglers’ model for open water and easy rivers. It features a skidguard deck to stand on that lies under the seat area. There are three additional boards, one of which the high-back inflatable seat sits on, and the other two are small workboards fore and aft of the seat.
Note that there is also another, larger tandem fishing inflatable from Innova called the Alfonso, which is listed in this Fishing section and under our non-self-bailing raft section.
The Halibut is 12’3” long and 38” wide, with a hull shape that looks like a bit of a blend between the old Innova Sunny kayak and the Innova Vagabond canoe model. It weighs 46 pounds, making it one of the heavier Innovas, but a lot of this is wood and hardware. There is a Cannon brand rod holder, a bottle holder, a metal bracket for sonar attachment, a removable tracking fin, and D-rings along the hull. One other item this boat has that we have not seen on other Innovas is a rear drain plug. Like most Innova kayaks, this is a non-selfbailing design.
The standard color is a green exterior with a gray interior. These come with the regular waterproof Innova carry bag. The Halibut is rated to hold about 440 pounds. It is mandatory to inflate the seat firmly (i.e. not with your mouth) for proper support, so use the same pump as for the three main air chambers.
