The tall, or full-size Salamander 4" barrel pump for rafts and inflatable kayaks offers a great value at about 2/3 the price of the Carlson brand. The base is a bit larger on this one, which makes it slightly harder to strap onto a raft thwart, but also more steady when standing - though we always recommend laying these down when you aren't using them to prevent handle breakage.
One detail to be aware of is that the hose tip is a simple, untapered piece of vinyl tubing. You can push most twist-in valve adapters into this tip but it does not fit into Leafields without some sanding, or preferably with the appropriate size hard plastic fitting pushed into the tip's end.
