Colors vary on these, so if you want one color in particular, please check with us first.
The AIRE 30" wide Landing Pad now comes with wrapped reinforced corners. AIRE is making these in dark gray, dark blue, and lime, but it is unlikely that we will have more than one color once we get re-stocked.
There are two sizes of Landing Pads, a 24" wide model, listed separately, and this one which is 30" in width. 30" Pads come in yellow, and now dark blue, not the lighter blue shown in the photo. The yellow will be changing over to orange this year at some point. Both this one and the 24" Pad are 3" thick and 6'6" long.
This is AIRE's version of the ever popular Jack's Plastic Welding Paco Pad at a lower price, though in fairness to Jack, Landing Pads are made in China not New Mexico, so if you prefer American-made by all means stick with his.
The Landing Pads are super thick, comfortable self-inflating sleep mattresses with open cell foam on the interior and a pvc boat material exterior. These measure a bulky 9" around when deflated and weigh about 13 pounds. We cannot recommend Landing Pads for self-supported inflatable kayak camping. They are just too big and would take up half your gear space. Landing Pads are intended for rafters and car camping. We do sell the very high quality Klymit air mattresses, which offer kayakers of all types a super tiny packed size and comfort to rival the Landing Pads.
If you are going to use one or two Landing Pads inside a small tent, you should look into the narrower 24" size Landing Pad. Two of the 30" pads will generally not fit the interior of a two person tent side by side. Measure before you order. Landing Pads have a summit kayak air valve, compression straps, and a stuff sack.
