Maxxon now has a regular 14' model known as the XSB-430, and it runs $2,579 plus motor freight. Motor freight is always substantially less to a business address (or a motor freight company depot) than to a residence.
This raft weighs in at about 133 pounds and comes with three removable thwarts. The floor is a firm, flat drop-stitch insert that is adhered to the sub-floor, with the bail holes around the left & right edge of the drop-stitch pad. Bailing on the larger Maxxons has been a bit slow compared to most other rafts, so while the handling is very good in general due to the flat underside, paddlers and rowers running high water or very continuous rivers might want a model / brand that bails a bit faster, i.e. the Tributaries or Rocky Mountains. For anglers and those who do more pool & drop type runs, these are a fine choice at an excellent price.
The width is about 6'10" without thwarts, and one inch more with them. There are fourteen D-rings and Leafield valves are used throughout. The bow and stern rise is 10" and the tube diameter is 20". We don't have the exact measurement on the straight top section for frame length, but an 82" frame should have no problems laying flat, perhaps a tad longer. Colors include blue, two-tone gray, orange, and green, though all four are rarely available. Five year warranty with six lift handles.
