RMR FLW-132 Whitewater Raft
Overview
RMR's newest rafts are the 13'2" Flow Series, the most affordable and highest-value Rocky Mountain option yet! They come in three colors, which are different from the other RMR models. These include moss, which is a pale green hue that won't scare fish & wildlife away; "neptune", a pretty muted shade of blue; and metal, which is a gray that falls in between RMR's existing light & dark gray. Thwarts and floors are medium gray.
There is also a drop-stitch floor version of this boat with no thwarts available, and it runs $2,199. Call for mroe info.
The Flows have a somewhat shorter warranty of three years, but every boat comes out of the same factory that has been producing the full line of RMRs for many years, and the quality has been amazing.
Flows are built from a slightly lighter material that still incorporates a stout base fabric, with permanently attached floors and smaller chafe material. The result is a boat that's lighter, easier to roll, carry, and to load, yet very rugged. The Rocky Mountain rafts with attached floors bail slightly slower than their lace-in equivalents, but they also handle better due to having smoother undersides with no grommet-protector strip to catch currents. The Flow pricing is also astonishingly low for a quality raft.
At 13'2" long, and 6'4" wide, it has a bigger footprint than the standard RMR SB-130, and larger diameter tubes at 20". This new design, coupled with the difference in material, yields a totally different boat that meets the needs of both families looking to float and fish, and whitewater folks looking for a fast and sporty, yet, stable and responsive craft.
We refer to the Flow in the plural in this description because there are actually two models - this one with an I-beam floor and three thwarts, and a second model mentioned above with a permanently attached 6" thick drop stitch floor & no thwarts, aimed at the fishing crowd who will use a frame and might be carrying slightly lighter loads. The drop-stitch model is $220 less. Because its floor is 6" top-to-bottom rather than 8" thick like the I-Beam models, the payload capacity is more akin to the RMR SB-120 raft, but the smooth floor surface allows anglers to stand directly on it rather than using casting platforms, and it also creates a very smooth underside, optimizing the performance.
Fourteen D-rings are standard, but the only lift handles are on the two ends. Because the price point is so low on the Flows, and because the box size still mandates motor freight delivery rather than UPS, it's going to be hard to offer full free shipping on these, but we will cover the first $100. Typical total freight to commercial addresses ranges from around $185 to $230 for commerical or terminal deliveries, so your portion would be in the $85 to $130 range (remote destinations always run a bit more even if they are commercial buildings). Residential costs are substantially higher so best to avoid that if you can.
