AIRE Tributary SPUD Inflatable Kayak
Please note that we also carry the Tributary Taters, which are the big brother to the Spud. While costing a bit more, the Tater gives you increased versatility in regard to the height & weight of paddlers who can use it, while retaining the "fun size" play-boat aspect.
This Tributary model from AIRE is ideal for kids and smaller paddlers, or those who backpack in to remote rivers & don't need a lot of storage space. Adults are also purchasing these as a playboat. The design is much more stable than the older Tributary Tomcat LV model was. It is lightweight, short, and stable providing a great feel for running waves, punching holes, and crossing eddy lines. The basic hull design is modeled after AIRE's Bakraft Hybrid model. We would suggest the Spud for shorter folks under six feet, and preferably under 170 pounds.
Being this boat is still almost three feet wide, a 220cm paddle isn't too long. If you a bigger person with a good reach, a 210 could work.
Note that the ship weight is the "dimensional" UPS weight. The actual box weighs about 26 pounds.
