Overview

Achilles, Hyside, and NRS all theoretically make 14'non-selfbailing "bucket" rafts but often none of them are readily available. The NRS Livery 140 is usually less expensive than Hyside or Achilles, and it rolls up to a very packable size. We do not stock any standard floor (non-bailing) rafts, so please call for availability before proceeding to our shopping cart.

Livery's have six D-rings and two lift handles, and three air chambers on the main hull. For mounting a rowing frame you might want a couple more D-rings depending how long the frame is. If you choose to get a two-bay frame, you will definitely need a couple extras, and we do carry D-rings though not all of them are listed on our site. Frame chafers are standard, and both thwarts are removable. Leafield C-7 valves are used for the thwarts and the main chambers.

The fourteen foot NRS Livery raft is a generous 7' wide, making it one of the roomiest mid-size boats you can purchase. Livery's do not inflate quite as stiff as the Hysides or many of the pvc brands, nor will they slip off rocks quite as easily, but the 1100 denier 41 ounce per yard Pennel fabric is plenty tough. There are additional gum rubber layers under the straight section of the main tube as well.

The NRS Livery 140 weighs 94 pounds, has 20" tubes, and is symmetrical with 9" of kick at each end. The warranty is five years. Thwarts on this one and the 13' Livery are 13-1/2" in diameter. The price is $2,969 and these can be shipped by UPS - they do not have to go motor freight.
