Overview
For the last ten years, Kershaw's Sea Hunter Blunt Tip River Knife, has been the single most popular river knife we sell. Kershaw's knives are easy to mount on your pfd, with closed slots on the back sides for straps to run through. It is also the least likely knife to slip out of your hand. The sheath changed last year though and did become both larger and a bit more complicated, we're not sure why.
The Sea Hunter grip is sticky hard rubber with flourescent yellow hilt and end tips. The release is just part of the plastic sheath and you push down to get the river knife out. There is an indented cutting slot near the hilt on one side that will make quick work of any webbing or hoopi you might become entangled in. Sea Hunter River Knife now comes as a screwdriver blunt tip only. Partly serrated on one side of the blade, and keen the full length on the other, a smidge over 7-1/2".
The Kershaw Sea Hunter is a slim, lightweight dive knife and river knife. And in this version, it has a blunt tip for added “no nick” safety. Like the regular Sea Hunter, the blade is 420J2 stainless steel for corrosion resistance, while the open-tang construction cuts down on unnecessary weight.
Partial serration on the top of the blade makes it easy to cut through net or line—or use the built-in cord-cutter notch. The Sea Hunter’s River Knife injection-molded handles have neon accents so they're easy to see in a marine environment.
The Sea Hunter comes with the Kershaw Diver's Sheath with a press-n-pull mechanism that locks the blade in the sheath and secures it regardless of your position in the water. Depth-compensating leg straps have adjustable quick-release buckles, too.
The Blunt-Tip Sea Hunter river knife can make a life-saving difference if you get tangled in line, nets, sea kelp or anything else lurking under the water. Make sure you have one with you on your very next dive or river trip.
