Cataraft Details

If you want to carry bigger loads or will often have two or even three passengers, the 16' Jaguarundi may be the ticket. This cataraft offers nimble handling combined with a 3/4 ton payload capacity, and it can utilize a two foot longer frame than the (special order) 14' Ocelot. It can also get surfed when it's underloaded like the Ocelot Cat, so the Jag is not the best choice for day trips with just a cooler, if that is your typical trip. Great for longer whitewater runs with the proper frame and / or decking. We have a number of customers who use these on California rivers even though the standard raft size of choice is more like 13' to 14' here. A short waterline lets the Jag pivot easily and the very shallow draft allows it to glide over low flow rock gardens that smaller rafts or cats would hang up on. Frame chafers & replaceable handles are now standard. Please try to have a second color choice, or, if you are adamant about just one color then you need to email or call us before jumping to the shopping cart.

Color choices include blue, red, lime, dark green, orange, and yellow. White, gray, or purple are special order with 5 to 6 week lead times. Pricing is for tubes only, not the frame.

* Free Shipping to the lower 48 States. Additional 5% discount for payment by cashier check.

Fun Boat
I bought this boat in 2011, my original thought was it would serve as a gear boat for a 2012 noncommercial boat down the Grand Canyon. after taking it out on a few local Maine rivers, I pretty much gave up WW kayaking and went to using this boat exclusively. the boat is light and fast in the river, can hold a ton of gear in the right configuration and I have had three people on mine with gear comfortably. I had an awesome trip down the GC and this boat held up under severe conditions, the river was running around 22k cfs, the boat is very stable, the only flip we had occurred in lava when a sneaker wave turned us sideways into a hole on river right. Anyway, quality construction, quality product, worth the money.
